A National Network of Women Legal Professionals

All India Women Lawyers Association | Network of Women Lawyers in India

The All India Women Lawyers Association (AIWLA) is a national platform connecting women legal professionals across India. We work to empower women in law through mentorship, advocacy, and professional growth opportunities. Our mission is to promote equal representation, strengthen leadership among women lawyers, and champion justice and gender equality within the legal system. Together, we strive to build a strong community that inspires change, uplifts voices, and advances the role of women in shaping India’s legal and social landscape.

6 Years Of Helping Hand

From our very first initiative to today’s growing movement, AIWLA has been a helping hand
✳️ Organized legal awareness seminars and workshops across states.
⚖️ Provided free legal assistance to women facing domestic violence, discrimination, or injustice.
🕊️ Promoted gender equality and leadership within the legal fraternity.
💬 Created platforms for dialogue and collaboration between judges, lawyers, and policymakers.
🌍 Reached out to communities, schools, and rural areas to spread legal literacy and empowerment.

Our Journey

Six years ago, a vision took shape — a vision of empowering women through the law, giving them a voice, and standing beside those who needed support and strength. Thus began the journey of the All India Women Lawyers’ Association (AIWLA) — a collective of women advocates united by purpose, compassion, and commitment to justice.
Glorious Years of AIWLA — A Journey of Justice and Empowerment
From our humble beginnings to a nationwide presence, the All India Women Lawyers’ Association (AIWLA) has completed six years of dedicated service to women, society, and the legal fraternity.
Through legal awareness, advocacy, and compassion, AIWLA has been a helping hand to countless women — empowering them with knowledge, confidence, and justice.
Here’s to every member, volunteer, and supporter who made this journey meaningful.
Together, we continue to build a future where law serves as a shield of strength for every woman.

Our Helping Areas

Divorce & Separation
Divorce and separation are legal processes that allow individuals to end or redefine a marital relationship when continuing it is no longer possible or healthy. While both involve significant emotional and social adjustments, understanding your legal rights and options helps ensure fairness, dignity, and protection throughout the process.
Grandparent Rights

Grandparent Rights refer to the legal rights and responsibilities that grandparents may have regarding their grandchildren — especially in matters of custody, visitation, and guardianship. These rights vary widely by country and are typically governed by family law.

Child Custody

Child custody refers to the legal guardianship and responsibility for the care, upbringing, and welfare of a minor child (under 18 years).
When parents separate, divorce, or are unable to care for the child, the court decides who should have custody — always based on the best interest and welfare of the child.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence (DV) refers to any act of abuse or harm—physical, emotional, sexual, verbal, or economic—inflicted by one person on another within a domestic relationship.
In India, it is governed primarily by the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (PWDVA).

Marriage/Civil Unions

Marriage and civil unions are both legal relationships between two people, recognized by the State, that grant certain rights, duties, and protections.
However, they differ in legal recognition, religious aspect, and rights.

Adoption & Surrogacy

Both adoption and surrogacy allow individuals or couples to build families.
However:
Adoption transfers parental rights of an existing child.
Surrogacy involves birth of a child by a surrogate mother for intended parents.

Property Settlements

Property settlement refers to the legal division or transfer of property between family members — often after marriage, separation, divorce, or inheritance.
It can take place:
During marriage (e.g., gifting property to spouse/children)
After divorce (dividing assets between spouses)
Through family settlements or wills (among relatives)
